"Maverick" Senator
Russ Feingold spoke on the Today show this morning. The title below his name was "maverick Senator". Albert Gonzalez was given equal time. Why didn't the screen read "controversial Attorney General"? After all, this guy once provided a rationale for torture.

Yeah, but "maverick Senator" is a complement.
I suppose it is, but I am not sure it was implied.
Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and Tina Fay will take up the controversy in a running sketch tentatively entitled "The Heartbreak of Hammurabism."
Such parodies are authorized under the Doctrine of Equal Crime.
