V-E Day
Sixty years ago
It's interesting to see how V-E Day was recognized. There were celebrations in the US, Western Europe and Russia. On the other hand, many former Eastern bloc countries viewed the day in a more solemn fashion as they were left to face over 50 years of Soviet domination.

ever see "Band of Brothers"?
Definitely so. I think it destroyed the John Wayne movies which gave such a romantic portrayal of war. I'll always remember that scene where the guy is walking around looking for his arm.
It looked real to me. I'll never forget the ww2 veterans in the theater with me. Many of them were shaking and crying.
