The Midwest Music Summit

There will be over 434 artists playing in over 30 locations as part of the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis. I'd love to see several of the bands playing (especially French Kicks), but I have Killers tickets tomorrow and will be out of town for the rest of the weekend.

I don't keep up with music very well these days, but I like what I've heard of the Killers.

I noticed I was stopping on the XM when I'd hear them playing.

The Killers were great. It was a sold out show and the audience was quite young. I was definitely older than the average person as I think every 18 year old girl in a 100 mile radius came to see Brendan Flowers. They probably only played for a little over an hour, but they really don't have much of a catalogue. I think they played their entire album, a B-side and two new songs which were quite good.

This small set really worked to their advantage as almost everyone knew the lyrics and sang along with the songs. The audience really reacted quite well to them. They came back for an encore and played "Midnight show" and "All these things that I've done" with its great repeated line of "I've got soul but I am not soldier".

A band called Conner opened for them. Their first few songs were pretty good.
