Indiana, the northernmost southern state.
How would you feel if your child's openly gay or lesbian middleschool/highschool gym teacher, who was of the same gender as your child, monitored your child's showers after PE.
Maybe a don't ask don't tell policy would be reasonable.
Should orientation result in a protected class? No, there are examples, as the one stated above, when making it so might interfere with legitimate goals of education.
