End of the Line for the Ford Taurus

DETROIT - Ford Motor Co plans to end production of its Taurus sedan early next year, killing off a one-time bestseller that contributed greatly to its bottom line for more than a decade.

The Taurus, you were so functional, so unsexy and I loved you for it. I haven't owned any other vehicle over the past 10 years, but two Tauruses. I am not one who tries to impress others with what I drive. To paraphrase Tyler Durden, "You are not your automobile". I don't need a SUV. I don't need a BMW. I just a need a car to get from point A to B and the Taurus served me well.

Dresden

Star Wars

The Bi Mon Sci-Fi con has come and gone from my city. We were even graced by a visit from Mr. Lucas himself. It's been 28 years since I first saw Star Wars. I remember watching the re-release and wondering how this little film changed the movie industry so much. I am watching The Empire Strikes Back on television. It is truly the dark masterpiece of this series.

An aside, why is "Blitzkrieg Bop" by the Ramones used in a Pepsi commercial? Punk is dead.

This is a log to chronicle life as a dissident in the "heartland", the northern tip of the bible belt, the capital city of the Mississippi of the North. Life in a red state leaves one blue.
