Earth Day

Earth Day was yesterday.

The BBC has a photo essay which depicts several "then and now" shots of world landmarks to show the effects of global warming. The difference over the course of a few years is stark.

You can check your ecological footprint here. I am embarrassed to say my own personal footprint is 26 acres. I blame that on this city's lack of quality public transportation.

19 acres. I think my score is chiefly due to the small size of our house (820 square feet).

20 acres, due to a smaller living space and a short commute.

I am not denying that there is a global warming problem, but the BBC pictures need to state whether they were taken during the same month/season. If you took a snow covered picture of Indiana in Jan., then it would look different than a snow covered picture in July.
