Hope Mono-Rail Doesn't Come to Town

Is anyone sure what the hell this is or its utility? Apparently some important people believe it is worth an investment of 10 million dollars. Ten million dollars? That's a lot of clams folks.

I hadn't heard of this in awhile. But tonight I read that this planning is still continuing. I read awhile ago that the idea was to create a new landmark for the city. How about the landmark that has served this city well for a number of years and surpasses this in beauty: The Soldiers and Sailors Monument?

It's a step in the right direction at least. This city needs more art and less war memorials.

What the hell is that? Is there a link to a story about this?

I'm all for more/better art and architecture in the city. But a futuristic donut? Really?

This "thing" is a contrived landmark that grew out of discussions years ago (late 70's early 80's by a group of powerbrolers called The City Committee when White River State Park was on the drawing board.
The concensus amoung these movers and shakers of the City Committee was that Indy needed something the arch in St.Lous or some such World's Fair thingy.
Former Lt.Gov.John Mutz who was on the City Committee pushed the deal real hard.
Well, here was are in 2007 and it looks like these old farts still want their landmark which I assume they will get it.
Look for some serious funding for it by Lilly Endowment, they want the thing, whatever it is.
